Improved Design Segmented V-Ball Control Valve

J-Flow's DM9900F rotary control valve is a direct mount, segmented ball valve with live loaded packing system, which provides outstanding control performance in a quarter-turn valve design.

Parts are interchangeable between the metal seated and soft seated designs. We have listened to customers as to what improvements they would like to see in a segmented ball valve, and incorporated those suggestions into our improved design segmented V-Ball control valve.

  • Easy Installation-Flanged body design of the J-Flow DM9900F eliminates exposed line flange bolting, reduces alignment and installation time, and promotes secure valve installations and piping integrity.
  • Compact Automation Design - Actuator mounting pad conforms to ISO 5211 standard, which allows for direct mount of any similarly ISO 5211 standard actuator, without the use of mounting bracket and coupling. This design further reduces potential for added hysteresis in the assembly, thus improving performance.
  • Application Versatility- The valves are available with ISA S75.04 and IEC 534-3-2 face-to-face dimensions as a standard construction. IEC 534.3.2 face-to-face dimensions are equivalent to S75.04 face-to-face dimensions.
  • Trim Interchangeability - Size for size, metal seated parts are interchangeable with soft seated parts. This reduces parts inventory requirements and costs. It also simplifies maintenance, training, and procedures.
  • Smooth Valve Operation-Precision machined parts and trunnion design allow for smooth, precise movement of the ball with low torque.
  • Excellent Flow Control-Precise contouring of J-Flow's compound V-Ball design provides a modified equal percentage flow characteristic. The compound V-Ball design allows for very precise control of low flow rates, but nearly fully open at 90 degrees open.
  • Protected Bearings - Both trunnion bearings are located inside the valve body. Having the lower shaft bearing inside the body provides a larger bearing area, lower bearing loads, and longer bearing life. Locating the bearing outside of the flow stream further enhances performance.
  • Sour Service Capability-Materials are available for applications handling sour service. These materials comply with the requirements of NACE MR0175.
  • Structural Integrity-One-piece valve body improves structural integrity of the pressure boundary by eliminating leak paths that could be caused by the gaskets in two-piece, bolted valve designs.
  • Exceptional Environmental Capabilities-As standard, the J-Flow DM9900F packing system is designed with very smooth shaft surfaces and live loaded packing to provide exceptional sealing. The live loaded packing design compensates for wear associated with actuated, modulating applications, as well as compensates for large temperature changes in the process and/or ambient conditions.
  • J-Flow Actuators, Matched for High Performance - J-Flow manufactures J-Torq™ actuators in three different versions:
    • J-Flow's JFD Spring & Diaphragm Actuator for compact, precise control in easy field changeable fail open and fail closed. Actuator to valve mounting complies with ISO 5211 standard and positioner mounting complies with NAMUR standard. Two different sizes are available for actuation up through 6" J-Flow DM9900F segmented V-Ball control valves.
    • J-Flow's JFC Double Rack and Pinion Actuator for compact, precise control in both double acting and spring return designs. Actuator to valve mounting complies with ISO 5211 standard and positioner mounting complies with NAMUR standard. Several different sizes are available for actuation up through 12" J-Flow DM9900F segmented V-Ball control valves.
    • J-Flow's JFE Electric Actuator for compact, precise control in both fail last and fail (open or closed). Control boards are available for a variety of input and output control signals. Actuator to valve mounting complies with ISO 5211. Optional enclosures are available to meet many of the required electrical area classifications. Several different sizes are available for actuation up through 12" J-Flow DM9900F segmented V-Ball control valves.
